Chak de revisted!!

It was like watching Chak de in real life. India pakistan cricket match always evokes a big response. It is the first time that ICC is holding a women's cricket tournament parallel to the men's world cup. The match was held in Taunton, which is the same ground where Sourav played the best innings of his life.

The match started at 5:30 pm, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat on a dry sunny day. Pakistan started disastrously and lost their top order quickly to Rumeli Dhar, after that it was Priyanka Roy who stole the show and took 5 pakistani wickets to curtail them under 100 at 75 runs. It was a disciplined performance by India under the captaincy of Jhulan Goswami. The atmosphere at the stadium was electric but there was more Indian crowd than Pakistani. We met Sri Lankan coach who was sitting behind us and he was there to watch Indian team as they are scheduled to play him next.

India came out to bat and started disastrously losing three wickets within 20 runs. There was a section of English crowd who were supporting Pakistan. I think, it was because of the fact that Pakistan was the underdogs and their win could have benefitted England. There wasn's too much noise in the support of Indian team but then we said," enough is enough" and we started shouting, " India India India " that had miraculous effect on the team esp on Anjum Chopra who steadied the ship and played a remarakbaly cool inning. After the fall of 5 wickets Malhotra came to join Anjum Chopra who was playing brilliantly. Needing 18 runs to win, the crowd was getting involved and we made sure that India won the match.

Anjum Chopra was the star of the mtch, she showed tremendous composure under high pressure situation and played a solid knock of 37* in 46 balls. We were overjoyed with the success of the Indian team and went to meet them after their execptional win. We had the opportunity to speak to Anjum and She said that she is confident of winning the world cup for India. Indain women cricket team made us proud and they looked like a choesive unit and played like a team and they way they are playing, they stand a good chance of emulating Dhoni and his men in this edition of the world cup.

It was always desirable to send you a request to lift your voice to support and hail the Indian team as the cosmic radar had captured all of you sitting idle... Jai Ho Anjum! Jai Ho Indian Women and glad all of you had a great time! Please share more photos. Thanks!
